Lazarus

Companion and familiar to Viktor Brandewyne, Lazarus is a creature able to take multiple forms. His two main forms are those of a large black cat and a raven. When he is in raven form, Viktor can “see” through his eyes. Lazarus can take the form of any creature he eats for a limited time. If he eats human flesh, he reverts to his original form of Jim Rigger, Viktor’s original first mate and second victim after becoming a vampire. He was resurrected as a cat by Viktor’s foster mother, Celie, eldest of the Sisters of Power.

Lazarus is introduced in Blood Curse, the first book in the Waves of Darkness series.
